Vendor Plug-in Vincent van den Berg
Part 2
Finalist Top 10 Wedding Party Photo content 2024 by One Eyeland.
All good things come to an end… and today, Friday, I’m closing Chapter One of my Vendor Plug-In series with Vincent van den Berg—the photographer who captured one of the happiest days of Mike’s and my life (before our kids).
As I was chatting with Vincent this week and gathering details for this spotlight, I asked him about the awards he’s received over the years. He casually mentioned he’s won many… and then added, “including one of yours.”
I stopped. “What do you mean?” I asked.
And that’s when he told me that one of my wedding photos was a Top 10 finalist for Wedding Party Photo in 2024 by One Eyeland.
I had no idea…
So it felt only right to bring this image into this space—because it deserves to live here in my Journal.
Now, let’s talk about this image. This is one of my favorite photos from our wedding—let’s dive in.
Back in 2014, sparklers were “IT”—and I knew I wanted that moment. My bridesmaids in their ombré pastel dresses, the men in white shirts, vests, and rolled-up sleeves. The energy was immaculate—the movement, the bright sparkles, the light… it all came together beautifully.
You can see my bare feet—I didn’t want heels. I’ve always felt connected to the ocean, and I knew I was going to be on the beach, in the sand, and didn’t want to worry about my heels. So I had these custom-made. Yes, the foot jewelry was very intentional.
My foot-jewerly
This is the exact moment right after Mike and I were introduced as husband and wife—walking into our reception, full of joy, surrounded by our people.
I’m still so proud of the wedding I designed… and so grateful that Vincent was the one behind the lens capturing it all.
