Why I Chose the Name "Mexico Wedding Alchemy"
The story behind the name is quite personal and emotional for me!
My journey as an event planner began with a heartfelt longing to live by the ocean. I grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico — a city that’s like the Chicago of Mexico, full of culture and tradition. It’s the birthplace of mariachi and tequila, and it’s a vibrant, cosmopolitan place. But I always wondered what it would be like to live by the sea.
So I found a job planning events in Puerto Vallarta. I had never done anything like that before — I came from a sales background — but I thought, “Sure, why not?” And I ended up loving it. I quickly became known for planning high-end, profitable events for top 500 companies — the kind of events that made my bosses ask why my strategies worked so well.
Eventually, that experience led me to start my own wedding planning business under my maiden name, Jen Kasten. For years, that was my brand. But as I grew and evolved, I realized that I wanted my business to reflect not just my name, but my deeper purpose.
In the last few years, I’ve had a spiritual awakening that became a huge part of my life. Through meditation and self-discovery, I started seeing my work in a new light. I wanted to create a brand that reflected the idea of transformation — of taking a couple’s love story, their dreams, and their travel experiences, and blending it with my expertise to create something truly special.
One day in meditation, I had a vision of mixing ingredients: on one side, the couple’s stories and desires; on the other, my knowledge and cultural experience. Together, we create alchemy — transforming their vision into a beautifully planned wedding. That’s where “Mexico Wedding Alchemy” came from. It’s about meeting couples where they are, respecting their budget, and maximizing the beauty of their day through a blend of their ideas and my experience.
In the end, “Mexico Wedding Alchemy” isn’t just a name. It’s a reflection of the magic that happens when we blend love stories with cultural richness and thoughtful planning. It’s my way of helping couples turn their dreams into gold.
